Cosco and Midea refrigerator: Let low-carbon polyurethane products into more families
2022-12-09
A low-carbon green refrigerator jointly launched by materials manufacturer Coxtron and global home appliance brand Midea Group is on display at Coxtron's booth at the 5th China International Import Expo 2022. The refrigerator is insulated with a low carbon footprint polyurethane based on the mass balance method. Through cooperation, the two sides are committed to accelerating the low-carbon transformation of home appliance manufacturing and bringing low-carbon home appliances to more households.
The launch of the two Midea Jingmei Series of low carbon refrigerators (BCD-439WFPZM and BCD-516WFGPZMA) uses ISCC PLUS quality balance certified low carbon footprint MDI. ISCC is an internationally recognized certification system for sustainable development of biomass and bioenergy. In the mass balance approach, raw materials derived from biomass or waste are mixed with fossil feedstocks and then mathematically assigned to the final product, achieving greenhouse gas reductions. Because the quality balance product performs the same as the corresponding fossil based product, the customer does not need to change the existing production process and equipment.
